In January 2015, the Office of Library services launched CUNY Academic Works, a single site to collect and provide access to the scholarly and creative output of CUNY. Academic Works runs on Digital Commons, a hosted institutional repository software platform.
Included works are selected and deposited by the individual campus in consultation with the Office of Library Services, but all content in Academic Works must:
- Represent scholarly and creative output
- Created by the faculty, students, and staff of the City University of New York
- Be available open access or on its way to being open access (i.e. under a temporary embargo)
Training and Support
The Scholarly Communications Librarian in the Office of Library Services is available to consult and provide training on a broad range of issues, from author's rights to effective outreach strategies. Each campus is also paired with a consultant at Digital Commons who is available to provide technical training.
